The National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs) has released its 2008 annual report. This report is the mechanism by which the organisation reports to the Science Minister and stakeholders. The report outlines the achievements of the organisation in its fourth year, these include:- Increased funding for 3Rs research, with £2.6m invested in ten grants and a total of £8m invested to date;
- Working with the major bioscience funders to launch guidance on the use of animals and the 3Rs for researchers.
